School of Byzantine Music - History - Information

The Byzantine Music school was funded in 1947, in Volos city, by the great chanter Manolis Chatzimarkos, when the Metropolitan of Demetrias was Ioakim. During the year 1967 the school was acknowledged by the Holy Synod of the Greek Church, while on 1993 it was acknowledged by the Greek State.

 

The basic program of the Byzantine School contains:

the theory and practise of the Byzantine Music

the history of the Byzantine Music

the Orthodox Church Liturgical chanting condition

 

Students can get:

degree of Chanter

degree of Byzantine Music 

diploma of Byzantine Music
