Two of the football players of the Athletic Association "Demetrias", Nikolaos Petropoulos and Apostolos Meletis will participate in the International championship in Amsterdam from 11/9/2015 to 18/9/2015. Responsible for this participation is Mr Antonios Daloukas, racism researcher in UEFA.

Under the guidance of the Metropolitan Ignatios, the athletic association "Demetrias" organised a group of volunteers in order to participate in cleaning and tidying our city. The first cleaning act took part in the sea-line of the place of Panaghia Goritsa in Volos. The blessing of the new football court of the Athletic Association "Demetrias" took place on Monday 4/10/2010 by the Metropolitan Ignatios. Many representatives of the authorities and of politic, social and athletic entities attended. The first Football Tornament that the Holy Diocese will organize while be dedicated against the social blockage.

From the beginning of the new school year 2010-2011, the Diocese Athletic Association "Demetrias" established two new football groups for boys 9-12 years old.
