At the Historical Church of the Dormition of the Theotokos at the "Hill of the Diocese" Pilios His Eminence officiated at the Supplication Service to the Virgin Mary.  This was a special opportunity for the Metropolis because along with the Supplication Service which was held for the first time this year, there was also a cultural event.  The purpose according to His Eminence was "to give us an opportunity for this place to speak about its history as well as an opportunity for some spiritual/cultural leisure combining worship with edification and education." He continued in stating that "...We want to create, in some way, a cultural norm (at least a yearly event).  We have a need for this, especially during this period of crisis, stress..., many times sorrow and depression.  I believe that this is part of our pastoral work, along with the spiritual opportunities that our worship services give us, to add things that will educate, teach, and also entertain us."

After the Supplication Service the reporter NikolaosBaralis spoke about the history of the place.  Immediately afterwards Mr. StilianosPelasgos in his own personal way narrated "Poems and stories about the Panagia" while Mrs. DomnikaMavridou accompanied his narration playing the byzantine kanonaki (dulcimer).
