During the weekend 22-23/2 events for the honour of a great chanter Manolis Chatzimarkos took place. The events were organized by the Chants Association of Volos "Ioannis Koukouselis". In cooperation with the Chants Arts Section of Musicology in Volos, a conference took place, presenting his life as chanter, teacher, musician. During the afternoon of 22/2 another event took place in the overcrowded Spiritual Center of the Diocese of Demetrias. Some of the speakers were the president of the Volos Chanters Association Efstathios Grammenos, and the philologist and chanter Christos Xenakis. After the concerts which followed the speeches, the event was closed by the Metropolitan Ignatios.

The events of the second day started with the Holy Liturgy in the Cathedral of the Diocese Saint Nicholaos. Two choruses took part, under the guidance of Georgios Lampropoulos, head chanter of the the Church of the Crossified in Aigaleo of Athens, and Georgios Chatzichronoglou, head chanter of the Church of Panaghia in Cholargos. The two choruses where joined under the guidance of the head chanter of our Diocese Michalis Meletis.
