The Holy Diocese of Demetrias celebrated the name day of the Metropolitan Ignatios on 29th of January. On the evening of the 28th January the Holy Vespels took place in the Cathedral of the Diocese, Saint Nikolaos, on which attended the Metropolitan Ioustinos of Krini and Kalamaria, Theoklitos of Vrestheni, Damaskinos of Velestino, Georgios of Katerini and Platamona, Chrisostomos of Triki and Meteora, Dimitrios of Safita from the Patriarchate of Antiocheia.

After the Vespels, the chanter Efthimios Kapsalis was honoured for his 41 year service.

During the name day of Saint Ignatios, the celebrating Holy Liturgy took placein the church of Christ's Assumption, on which attended the Metropolitan Theoklitos of Vrestheni, Timotheos of Thessaliotida, Chrisostomos of Triki and Meteora, Damaskinos of Velestino, Dimitrios of Safita from the Patriarchate of Antiocheia.

The church was overcrowded by respresentatives of the authorities, citizens, and students the schools of the parish.
