The traditional horse blessing, on the day of Christ's Ascention, took place again this year in the Village of Kala Nera.

The event started at 11.30am with the visit of the Holy Icon of Christ's Ascention and the blessing by the Metropolitan of Demetrias Ignatios, under the presence of the Metropolitan of Chalkida Chrisostomos. After the blessings, the horse keepers received a memorial gift from the Metropolitan. The event was closed with traditional choruses and a folk celebration, in which the singer Gogo Tsampa took place.
