(Article in the "Pliroforisis", issue of April 1999) On Sunday February 28th, Sunday of Orthodoxy, the Metropolitan Ignatios took part at the Holy Liturgy in the Cathedral church of Saint Nicholaos in Volos. During the Liturgy the Metropolitan blessed father Charilaos Papageorgiou to Archpriest and the Deacon fr Damaskinos Kiametis to Archdeacon.

(Article in "Pliroforisis", issue of April 1999) On Sunday March 7th the Metropolitan of Demetrias Ignatios blessed the opening of the church of Saints Triantafillos and Marina in Alikes of Volos. This opening blessing was the second of our bishop Ignatios, while the first occured in the church of Saints Kosmas and Artemios.

Celebrations at the monastery of Panaghia Ksenia

The celebrations of the Virgin Mary's feast on August 23rd took place with great magnificence at the nun monastery of Panaghia Ksenia of Almiros. Among the metropolitans that attended were the Metropolitan of Peiraeus Kallinikos, of Elassona Vasileios, of Demetrias Ignatios. After the Holy Liturgy, the holy water blessing followed, and the blessing of the new section of the monastery.

Article in "Pliroforisis", issue of March 1999 Opening of the 6th Peace Home On Sunday 7th February the Metropolitan of Demetrias Ignatios blessed the Opening of the 6th Peace Home in the church of Saints Anargiroi. In this Peace Home there will be supplied daily 50 portions of food, to people who are in need.

Article in Pliroforisis, February 1999 The first Dedication of a church by the Metropolitan Ignatios occured on Sunday January 24th 1999, at the church of Saint Kosmas and Artemios, in the center of Volos. The Metropolitan thanked all the contributors to this effort and transeferred the blessings of the Archbishop for this first Church Dedication.
