Blood giving at the church of Saint Anargiroi in Volos
Thursday, 25 June, 2015On Wednesday 1/7, from 9 to 11 am, there will be a bloodgiving Unit outside the celebrating church of Saints Anargiroi. The aim of this effort is the Church to be able to give blood to people in need. -
Mount Athos night by the "Crossified" in Salonica
Tuesday, 23 June, 2015The "Mount Athos night" event "Fathers studyings" will take place on Wednesday 24 June2015, at 7.15 pm. Actually it will be a memorial for the book of fr Markellos Karakallinos (1939-2006), "Crossified" publications, Volos 2014. The event will occur in the Municipal Library of Ano Poli - Salonica. -
Events for the accomplishment of the day nursery school year
Tuesday, 16 June, 2015The events for the accomplishment of the day nursery school year took place on 12/6 at the open Municipal Theater of N.Ionia with great success. Kids performed the theatrical play "I love my country". The Metropolitan of Demetrias Ignatios spoke to the people who attended, after the play, thanking the educators and referring to the great effort ofthe day nursery the last years. -

Feast of the Saint Loukas the doctor to Dimini
Friday, 12 June, 2015On Wednesday 10/6 the celebrations of the feast of the great Saint Loukas the doctor took place in the church which is dedicated to him in Dimini of Volos. The Metropolitan of Demetrias Ignatios took part to the celebrations, where he spoke to the people who attended, about the difficulties Saint Loukas faced in his life, but still stayed strong in his faith. -

Wednesday, 3 June, 2015Holy Metropolis of Demetrias, agape, the Orthodox news network, and the "Magnets Ark" organize an event for the memory of the recent Christians pogroms, on Sunday 7/6. at 9.00 pm, in the open Municipal Theater of Volos. Thursday, 28 May, 2015The Cultural Association "Μagniton Kivotos" , having many subjects related to the sea, brings the "Navy Week" from June 2nd to 8th, with aim this event to be achieved from now on every year. Thursday, 14 May, 2015The Association of the families who have many children, in cooperation with the Holy Diocese of Demetrias implemented an event for all the mothers. The event took place on Saturday 16/5 at 6.00pm at the University of Thessaly, with speaker Mr Viron Kotzamanis, professor of the University of Thessaly, with subject: "Demographic and many children mother". -

Friday, 24 April, 2015The Holy and miraculus Icon of Panagia from the island Trikeri (Magnesia prefecture, Volos), visited the church of Christ's Assumption in Volos, on Monday 27/4. The icon shall remain to Volos until Saturday 2/5, and the church will opened from 7.00am to 1.00pm and from 5.00pm to 10pm for people to visit and pray. -

The holy icon of Panagia Ksenia to the church of Christ's Assumption
Thursday, 16 April, 2015The holy miraculus icon of Panagia Ksenia , which s kept to the nunnery Holy Monastery of Panagia Ksenia in Almiros, will visit the church of Christ's Assumption in Volos, on Monday 20/4. It will stay until Saturday 25/5, and all the days that it will remain there, the church will be opened from 7:00am to 13:00pm, and from 17:00pm to 22:00pm. -
Resurrection of Christ and Love Vespels to our Metropolis
Sunday, 12 April, 2015The Metropolitan of Demetrias Ignatios took part to the Celebrating Rising Holy ceremony and later the Holy Liturgy in the Cathedral Saint Nikolaos where he chanted the Christ is risen. During the Easter Sunday, he took part to the Love Vespels, in which the gospel was read to multiple languages. After the vespels, the Metropolitan distributed easter eggs to the people who attended.
