The 1st camp period has started!
Tuesday, 28 June, 2016The blessing of the 1st camp period was performed on 27/6 by the coadjutorof our Diocese, fr Damaskinos Kiametis. In the 1st period about 100 boys that finished the 3rd, 4th, 5th year of primary school are hospitalised, under the guidance of fr Kallinikos Georgakopoulos.. -
Full agreement for the proposal of the Greek church
Saturday, 25 June, 2016The members of the Church of Greece fully agreed of the changes in the Greek proposal about the matter of the Orthodoc Church in relation to the rest of the Christian world. The Archbishop stated that with these changes, from now on the Orthodox tradition and ecclessiology will be protected, but also the relation with other branches of Christianity will be more clear. -
The abbot of the Vatopedi monastery from Mount Athos supported large families from Magnesia
Saturday, 25 June, 2016During a very interesting event in Xenia Hotel of Volos, about 100 students from large families were honoured. In the event, the Abbot of the Mount Athos monastery Vatopedi, elder Efraim was declared a great supporter to the Association of large families. He agreed that the demographical problem has increased in Greece, as also Mrs Tonia Prapa stated, saying also that most large families have parents of more than 60years old. Church is besides large families and always responses positive in avery call of need. -

Wednesday, 22 June, 2016His Eminence Metropolitan Ignatius of Demetrias gave very important news on the progress of the proceedings of the Holy and Great Orthodox Synod, held in Crete, speaking to the journalist Nikos Varalis of the radio station of our Local Church "Οrthodoxi Martyria" . His Eminence referred to the assurance of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, during today's meeting, that " there is no question of autonomy of the so-called New Countries of Greece. Horse blessing in Kala Nera village
Friday, 10 June, 2016The traditional horse blessing, on the day of Christ's Ascention, took place again this year in the Village of Kala Nera. The event started at 11.30am with the visit of the Holy Icon of Christ's Ascention and the blessing by the Metropolitan of Demetrias Ignatios, under the presence of the Metropolitan of Chalkida Chrisostomos. After the blessings, the horse keepers received a memorial gift from the Metropolitan. The event was closed with traditional choruses and a folk celebration, in which the singer Gogo Tsampa took place. -
